Hey fans, we were back in the studio this weekend to re-record some guitar parts as well as some keyboard parts. Both sessions went pretty smooth, and a lot of retracking got done. We spent a good deal of time really polishing up individual parts and getting the right sounds for every song. Eitan added some great keyboard parts and Darbuka parts today and Leo shredded some great solos on Saturday. Brandon is heading into the studio in NYC on Friday to record the main vocals. Saturday we're playing a live set with local New Brunswick bands for Rutgers Day at 3:30pm outside of Demarest Residence Hall! COTTON SETLIST FROM UNITE MARATHON!
April 18th, 2011

Hey everyone, we had one hell of a weekend with the band. Saturday was around a ten hour studio session. We woke up on Sunday around 6am to get gear packed up to play at the Rutgers Unite Marathon at 9:30. Following the show, we got some lunch and headed back to the studio to begin fixing mistakes and adding some acoustic guitar parts. The show was a great time-- a good crowd lined the street watching the tired runners complete the final stretch of the race. We played for close to two hours and busted out some older songs that had not been played in a long time. We also debuted some more new material. Here was the setlist we performed at the show yesterday:

PARTS OF THE AUDIO SOUNDBOARD RECORDINGS ARE AVAILABLE FOR STREAM AND DOWNLOAD AT www.cottonband.bandcamp.com The full show will be released in its' entirety at some point in the near future. Stay tuned.

COTTON IN THE STUDIO DAY 2!
April 17th, 2011

Hey fans, we were in the studio all day today tracking the backbone to all the songs for the upcoming album. It was a really smooth day and everything turned out great! Probably one the most fun and stress-free studio sessions any of us have endured. Paul helped guide the session along by suggesting some transition and tempo ideas. We ended up getting all 11-12 songs tracked due to the incredibly natural progression of the session. The energy was high and the focus was there. This morning we're heading over to the college avenue Rutgers Student Center to perform a 90 minute set for the Unite Marathon at 9:30am! After the show, we're heading back to the studio in Hightstown to lay down some acoustic guitar layers, fixing any mistakes and adding some light percussion backing tracks. Keep in touch with the site for more updates, they are sure to come!

COTTON ON RUTGERS RADIO 88.7 WRSU
April 11th, 2011

Hey fans, members Brandon Broderick, Leo Kalik and John Aponte appeared on Stephanie Eng's show at Rutgers Radio, 88.7 WRSU on April 1st, 2011. The performance and interview ran a little over twenty minutes and included three acoustically performed songs as well as a short interview. We discussed some info about our upcoming album and recording process as well as how we plan on touring this summer. The entire performance was recorded in 720p video by friend and fellow Rutgers student Brian Posaz. The station recorded an audio feed of the show as is dubbed over the video, and we recorded a separate soundboard feed of the show which is available on our bandcamp website: www.cottonband.bandcamp.com. Currently that audio feed is on the left hand side of this website as well, so check it out!

COTTON IN THE STUDIO DAY 1!
April 10th, 2011

Hey fans, we were at the studio in Hightstown, NJ yesterday for our first day of studio session work. We spent the day getting the drums setup for recording as well as tested out some preamp sounds while listening to some demo tracks of the potential songs to be put on this album. We're working with engineer and producer Paul Howells on this project, who has a degree in sound engineering from NYU. Paul is a musician as well and had played in the popular local act Free Yon several years ago. His studio, "The Castle", in Hightstown is providing us with a nice local atmosphere to get this album completled and we already feel at home there. Paul seemed very excited about the demos we had, and threw in his two cents of suggestions and ideas for song placement. We're going back next Saturday to begin tracking the drums and the backbone of the songs. Stay tuned!
